Building Specifications

  • All handrails and decking will be #1 premium grade lumber [unless otherwise specified]
  • All attachments will be galvanized
  • All footings will be 3000 psi concrete [either 16"x16"x12" or 24"x24"x12"]
  • All house bands will be 2"x"10" attached to structure with 5/8" through bolts
  • All front bands, girders, and load bearing beams will be (2) 2"x10" boards
  • All handrail pickets will be #1 eased-edge milled pickets
  • All handrails will be a minimum of 36-1/2" high pickets at 5" O.C.
  • All deck bands attached to house will be flashed
  • All steps will have vertical riser boards
  • All joist spans and lumber sizing will meet or exceed North Carolina code requirements
  • Decking will be screwed to joists [unless otherwise specified
  • All lumber will be 0.40 OsmoseTM treated lumber with 40 year limited lifetime guarantee
  • All boxing, siding, painting, trimwork, shingles, etc. on porch additions will match existing house specifications
